Everywhere is covered with a white dusting of snow but it won't be too long now before the growing season will start all over again. This year I have a lot to learn about veg growing and plenty of new growing spaces to plant things. We are still eating loads of green leaves from the garden. Sprout leaves, rainbow chard, pak choi and two varieties of kale as well as lettuce, radish leaves, beetroot leaves and onion thinning's. Oh my! those onion thinning''s pack a flavourful punch in a salad. As soon as Christmas is packed away I shall bring the heated propagator into use and make a start sowing some early seeds. I'm surprised to look through my seed collection and see just how much can have an early start towards the end of January. Veggies are a lot tougher than we give them credit for. At the moment the garden is a bit of a parking lot and will remain that way until the big shed comes down and it can all be moved to the patio. The new shed has taken up most of the utility area of the garden but weather has stopped us dismantling the big shed. I need to be patient and wait until it's a bit warmer and drier before I can start to make plans for the new veg plots.
