A peep at the front garden

The past few days have been perfect gardening weather kind of days. Needless to say I have spent every spare minute working out in my little plot.  Today was the turn of the front garden and I am trying to make use of as much space as possible. One of my pedestal planters is full of dwarf French beans and micro tom tomatoes.  The other pedestal planter has fragrant lily bulbs just starting to push through so I decided to fill the gaps with a red and a yellow tumbling variety of tomato. The grow bags have been planted up and I am chancing my arm putting one of my cucumber plants outside.  The area gets really hot and is very sheltered so fingers crossed we might get a decent crop. In the middle of the front garden are three concrete imitation barrel planters. Each has three plants and they are different varieties of peppers and chillies.  In two of the borders I've planted the left over red and white rainbow chard.  I couldn't bring myself to put them on the compost bin and they're already looking really pretty. In the back garden I have alternated red and yellow varieties of the rainbow chard.

We don't use the front door so I
have filled both sides of the pathway with veggies

The upturned pot is to stop me poking my eyes out
on the canes in the pedestal planter.

On the windowsill to the left of the door is another cucumber plant. There are also another five of a different variety of cucumber plants and three chilli plants on the windowsill.  D'ya think we are going to be well supplied with cucumbers and chillies.

The sun sets over the hedge at the back of the house and is currently streaming in through the opened doors.

  2. Lovely piccies :) Haha, 'survivors will be shot again' - you're a bit hard core Cherie. I can spot a bit of neighbouring lawn that could be encroached upon for extra growing space. Maybe move the fence 10 cm each night, they'll never notice! Lulu x
