Edible flowers

 It's the time of year when I have pretty coloured flowers to add to the salads and they look stunning. I'll be researching other edible flowers and planting them in the garden in the next few months. They just add such a pretty finishing touch and as we eat pretty much anything and are willing to try new things it has made for some interesting looking and tasting salads.


The purple and red Gladioli and yellow marigolds look stunning mixed with the salad leaves. I take one flower from each stalk and they keep popping up around my garden for weeks to come. I've even had some blooming in late November.

    I didn't know Gladioli flowers were edible.
