I'm really pleased to see just how colourful the garden is at the moment. Aren't these Kohlrabi gorgeous
The courgettes are still giving me generous picking with plenty more to come if the weather holds out
The Florence fennel that I cut off at the base and left the stalks in the ground is growing back. I'm not expecting to get any fennel bulbs but the stalks and feathery tops taste lovely in salads
This is the cabbage stalk that was left to regrow. There's plenty of lovely cabbage leaves although I doubt they will form heads
The celeriac is starting to swell nicely and we are really looking forward to eating it fresh pick from the garden
The sweet peas are going berserk in a last flush before the cold weather sets in. They smell absolutely divine
This rose is called 'Leaping Salmon' and it always flowers late into the year. It has a lovely rose perfume too
And there's a lovely red climbing rose too
I've picked courgettes and dwarf french beans for tea
These are probably the last cucumbers we'll get although one of the plants has pushed out some very healthy looking new growth so I won't give up on getting one or two more. I've cut the two other cucumber vines down and will re use the compost from the pots once I've refreshed it
The peppers in the porch are doing amazingly well though the ones outdoors look very sorry for themselves. I might dig them up at the weekend and compost the stalks. Next year I am planning on growing aubergines in the porch along with tomatoes, cucumbers and peppers.
Hello Cherie, I'm here for my weekly vegie catchup with a cuppa.... Those Kohlrabi are amazing looking things. I've heard it is tres en vogue to put veggie foliage now in flower arrangements! Your courgettes are doing amazingly well, mine are all squibby and gone. Interesting to see the results from your re-grow experiments. Definitely worth it. Lulu xXx
