During that really bad storm last month, a big part of the fence between us and our neighbours came down. I've just ordered some beautiful golden privet to replace the fence as even though it will take a few years to get established I would far rather have the privet than a fence. The hedge that I planted a few years ago really lights up the garden... it always looks as though the sun is shining on it. It's considerably cheaper than putting more fencing in too and I love trimming hedges far more than painting fences. Hopefully it should arrive early next week and I can get it planted. It will fly away this summer and before we know it I'll have a beautiful golden hedge which the birds will enjoy.

I love a good hedge too Cherie. The golden privet will look lovely! It took three years to get our Griselinia littoralis hedge up to 'nude day' levels of privacy. Worth the wait ;) x
