Veggie garden February 2022

I've just stuck my head out of the door and taken a few pictures of the veggie garden which has fed us all through the winter.  This year I want to spend a lot more time planning the beds and the successions that I want to grow.

Below I have my onion and garlic coming along nicely. There's also five tatty lettuce and a few rows of beetroot that I grow for salad leaves. At the end closest to us I have planted some tulips purely because I had nowhere else to put them and they were a freebie from the local garden centre.

Below there's Kale, Kalettes and Brussels sprouts. We usually eat them raw in salads but I do sometimes shred some sprout leaves and steam them like cabbage

My purple sprouting broccoli is going great guns at the moment and there's a few swede still to use up. My perennial Kale that Steve sent me is really growing well now and I plan to take a cutting and once rooted I'll pop it in the front garden as it's quite beautiful and will add some height and interest.

  1. You've been amazing with your garden - you could open it up on Garden Days.

    1. If people could access the garden other than through the house I might consider it. Unfortunately there's no way into the back other than the house or garage and the garage is a death trap.

  2. ^^^ I have the same issue - I don't like the idea of people stomping through the house, noseying at my pantaloons festooning the radiators.

Wowzers Cherie, that Purple Sprouting looks amazing!x
