I had a spare yellow courgette plant in my porch so the other day when it was lovely and warm I popped it into a big tub out in the veg garden. Needless to say for the last two nights the temperature dropped and I didn't think it would survive. It's actually looking really healthy and strong and I can see the start of some flowers. In a week or two I might just be able to identify some tiny baby courgettes and a month from now might be eating them. I'm told that they are really nice in salads if you pick them very young. I'll let you know what we think.

ReplyDeleteIt looks really well. I'm surprised at how cold tolerant it has been so far.
DeleteHello Cherie, must be your magic seeds! :) I accidentally left some out on the hardening off bench overnight last week - and they survived the frost!!! They have been out ever since and and raring to go! Spiralized courgette, instead of spaghetti, is rather nice too. Only needs lightly cooking for 2 mins xXx
ReplyDeleteI've seen some gorgeous stuffed courgette recipes and will be giving them a try as soon as I have some on the plants.
