OOPS

This morning I've been dodging heavy rain showers and  was out in the garden doing a bit of weeding and chopping when all of a sudden I heard a loud creaking, tearing sound... A big branch has torn off the plum tree in my neighbour's garden and landed on the top of their pretty arbour seat. I gave them a knock to tell them and the my neighbour went out and cut it off. I've no idea why it happened as the tree looks healthy and strong. It might need the rest of the tree checking over though. I've had to pull a few lettuce as they were starting to bolt. There's still plenty left but I do need to start sowing some more so that we don't run out of lettuce for the salads.  The tomato that I put outside the other day looks really healthy and yesterday I stood my tub of aubergine plants and a cucumber that I have growing in a large pot outside . The cucumber just doesn't look very happy in the porch so I have nothing to lose if it turns up it's toes and dies. I did put the aubergines outside a while ago and they were doing really well but had to bring them back indoors when we had a cold snap. I've been waiting for the night time temperatures to get above 10 so that they could go out. They will have to take their chance outside now as they aren't coming back inside.

  1. Oh, gosh - what a shock that must have been. Poor neighbour! I'd have the rest checked over, for sure. xx

  2. Hello Cherry, we had a beautiful old cherry tree when we moved in. The wood was brittle though and branches kept on snapping off. After a couple of years it developed canker - with dead sunken patches, but no resin oozing. Sadly the whole tree had to come down. Fingers crossed for your neighour's plum tree. Good luck on the aubergines. I have two plants from the seeds you gave me :) x

    1. You should see your crystal lemon cucumbers. They are incredible. I'd chuck the White Wonder Lulu... not worth the time and effort
