We really don't need a huge amount of space to grow beautiful fresh salad. This bed supplied me with lettuce all through the winter. It's been supplying me with spinach, beetroot leaves and radish for weeks. The carrots will be flying up soon and as it's about a metre tall I have no issues with carrot fly.
