This morning when I got up there was a thick crust of ice on the workshop roof. By noon it was almost gone and that's the first time it has been free of snow or ice since Christmas. That meant it was getting warmer so I went straight out and spent a good hour and a half pottering around the garden. I created a new veg bed and filled it with half the contents of my compost bin. I've ordered some black weed suppressing membrane and as soon as it arrives I'll cover the new bed with it. By April it will be lovely for planting out early veg. The compost bin has been moved from the middle of the lawn and I had a really good tidy around the garden. It's done me the world of good being out in the fresh air.
