Sweetcorn

The veg garden is looking really pretty just now.  It's been a bit too hot to do much today but it's starting to cool down now thank goodness.

I was a bit surprised last week to see Monty Don planting out his sweetcorn.  Mine's been planted for ages and is coming along nicely

  1. We can't plant corn down the allotment, it's always decimated by badgers. Some people have built cages but we go for baby corn instead, which the wildlife ignores for some reason.
Dad always had sweetcorn and it tasted divine. The cobs freeze well too.

  2. I personally always feel a little bit smug when Monty gives us a job for the weekend that I've already done ;) The sweetcorn is coming along nicely... flowers already! Lulu x
