Superb flavour

I've just tried my first yellow  'Tumbling Tom' tomato and the flavour is superb as is the red variety. I'll definitely grow them again next year as the crop is huge.

Yellow and red Tumbling Tom and cucamelons

The cucumbers continue to grow the minute my back is turned. We've had a huge crop and these are also on my list to grow next year. I've several jars pickled and might do some more this weekend. They are also lovely chopped very small, mixed with garden mint  and stirred into plain yoghurt

It'll be twice the size by tomorrow morning

The little melon that I have growing in the porch is starting to smell like a melon and I think it might be time to harvest it.  I'll leave it till the weekend and Tony and I can share it

Speaking of the porch. It's been an absolute Godsend this past growing season and is now referred to as the greenhouse.

  1. The Tumbling Toms look like little corkers Cherie, and great to hear they are delicious too. I've never grown yellow ones before... shall have to add them to the seed list for next year! I very much like the fact you 'greenhouse' has a comfy seat in it. Your melon is a beaute. Lulu xXx

    1. We bought the plants as seedlings but I plan to keep some seeds from the tomatoes. I can send you some if you like.

  3. It's lovely no with everything coming into their own in the garden. There's absolutely nothing as lovely as a sweet, fresh picked tomato, still warm from the sun.

    1. I'm absolutely delighted at the flavour of everything we've grown this year. It's been well worth all the work.
