Garlic's planted

I was listening to Steve talking about green garlic on a recent video so yesterday I planted a load of teenie tiny garlic cloves with the intention of using them as green garlic. They were too small to do very much with so might not give me much in the way of a garlic bulb but nothing ventured and nothing gained.. I also planted out a load of lettuce seedlings into a huge raised planter under the pergola.  It's nice and sheltered from the worst of the weather so we are hoping to be eating it in salads as soon as it is large enough to start harvesting.

We've started eating the Jerusalem Artichokes and they are absolutely delicious. I have fifteen tubs of them so hopefully they should last a good long while as we won't be eating them every day.

Here is one of my favourite of Steve's videos.  He talks such common sense and if you ask a question he's really helpful. I much prefer watching you tubers that take the time to respond when you ask a question

  1. Great to hear your fartichokes have grown well and are delicious Cherie! Oooh, I have lots of teeny tiny garlic bulbs from the supermarket. I wonder if I could get them to sprout (hopefully they've not been sprayed with too much growth inhibitor?). Can you believe my brother threw all his garlic scapes away... and he calls himself 'a foodie'! Very kind of Steve to reply to questions. Lulu xXx

    1. Bung them in the ground and see how you get on. The fartichokes are lovely but created quite a storm..;-)
