What do you buy a keen gardener

I hope you have all had a wonderful Christmas.  I was absolutely delighted to receive these from Tony today. It's lovely to receive presents that I actually want and not something that will sit at the back of a cupboard until it ends up in the charity shop.

I can hardly wait until Spring when I will be able sow some of these chilli seeds

And just look at the colour in these Chinese cabbages

I decided this year that I won't be planting so many sweet peas and instead will plant runner beans with colourful flowers

I've never grown Butternut squash before so it will be fun trying to grow some

And I'll be back on the low carb diet after New Year so with a bit of luck these squash will be lovely next winter. The blurb says they taste like baked potatoes and it will be interesting to see if they do.

The hat will be worn to death this summer and will be a godsend if it shades my eyes and keeps my face from burning in the sun.

And the fibre pots will be great to plant straight out into the garden as soon as the contents have hardened off

  2. Fun gifts. I have found the fiber pots, don't break down very much, so make sure you slice them open across the bottom before transplanting into the garden. But, what wonderful seeds and love the hat! Hugs for the gardener, Sandi

    1. That's a useful tip Sandi. I'll remember that when I come to plant them out in my garden
