The neighbour.

I've had a lovely few hours in the garden today just generally faffing about and moving things around. My neighbour scared the life out of me when he spoke...  I was in a little world of my own.  We had a nice chat about the new hedge and he offered to give me half the cost... I declined as it's my choice to put in a hedge rather than a fence. I've told him of my plans to grow runner beans between the patios on both gardens this year as the hedge is going to take a few years to become established. It'll give us both some privacy and there'll be plenty of beans for us all to share. I was surprised at just how chatty he was as he rarely says more than two words

I'm really going to ache tomorrow as I've moved some very heavy pots and containers. I forget that I'm no spring chicken anymore.  I've got my eye on the big planter on the path and if the weather is ok tomorrow I intend to empty it so that Tony and I can move it when he comes in from work. It currently has kohlrabi in it but they look really weedy so I'll use them up tomorrow when I put the salad boxes together. The twin wall plastic that my friend gave me will be put to good use in the near future when I make some cold frames.

  1. We experienced the same thing when our mutant conifers came down at the bottom of the garden - we talked to two sets of neighbours that we had never really chatted to before. We now have a 'secret flap' to access one other garden. The kids can see their little neighbour friends and come & go as they please.

You are going to have muscles upon muscles Cherie ;)Ah, you have just answered my question about twin walled polycarbonate too x
