I'm sick to death of reading and listening to people banging on about the rising cost of food. Has it not occurred to them to plant a veg garden and grow their own. A couple of packets of seed will produce an enormous amount of edible stuff. They'll get plenty of fresh air and exercise and the food they eat will only be sprayed with what they choose to spray it with. They could get together with friends and arrange a plant/seed swap so there's opportunity to meet up with other folk which can be good for their mental health. Even the smallest garden or balcony can produce massive amounts of food so space is rarely an excuse.

ReplyDeleteI think you are right Joy. Why on earth don't they teach gardening in schools. Not all children are academic achievers. Some would make brilliant gardeners.
