Pleased as punch

Last night I listed some of my spare fruit trees on a local site and this afternoon I sold three of them. It's cleared a small space in the garden and they went to a lovely gentleman who seems keen to create a mini orchard. He was quite impressed with my garden too bless him.  I'm hoping to sell a few more as I really don't need that many even though they hardly take up any space and the money can go towards the winter fuel bill. The tomatoes, courgettes and various beans are coming thick and fast and are making the most amazing sauces and it's great laying down all these supplies for the coming months. I'm looking ahead to the next growing season now. I made a final sowing of carrots at the weekend and I'm planting out seedlings as fast as they are ready to move on. The weather is warm and wet which is perfect for planting things on.. it's annoyingly also perfect for slugs but I love watching the local thrush feasting in my veg beds.

  1. Great idea to pot up trees & shrubs, grow them up a bit and sell them! I'm being ruthless with my plants, any that don't quite fit are being sold off. I think the molluscs are having their last hey-ho aren't they?! x
