A few weeks ago I put the base plate from an onion into one of my planters. It sprouted lovely green shoots and today I harvested them to cook. It got me wondering.. Would it work with the base plate from a garlic clove... I have pushed it into the compost in the old Belfast sink planter and I'll let you know how it comes along. It might do absolutely nothing but hasn't cost me anything to try. I will also update on how well the onion recovers after having a hair cut.

And now we wait to see how if onion recovers and the garlic pushes out shoots.
