It's been absolute gorgeous today. Perfect gardening weather and I have certainly made the most of it. I planted some trays of Early Nante carrots, Snowball turnips and some Cherry Belle radishes and put them up on top of the wood store which is covered with the plastic roof of the pergola. Then I emptied one of my half water butts and planted some French Breakfast radish seeds. I've sown some Gardeners Delight and some Money maker tomatoes. These are really old seed so if they germinate I will be surprised but I didn't just want to throw them away. I've sown them in big milk cartons and popped them down the garden with my 'winter sowings'. The winter sowings I made back in early Feb have all sprouted and are looking very perky. Some of them will be in the cartons at least another month though before I put them in the veggie beds but won't need much in the way of hardening off. When the spring bulbs finish the area around the pond will be lacking in colour so I 've scattered a variety of hardy annual seeds there. Tony has been warned not to weed around the pond

If the weather is nice tomorrow I think will just sit in the garden and enjoy the sunshine with a good book and a nice cup of tea. It's all forecast to change at the weekend so I want to make the most of it while I can.
What a great tamper tool! I have desperately wanted to be outside for the past couple of days, but apart from a short lunch with the tulips on the terrace, I have been stuck working away in the home office :( Tomorrow I have off though and I am determined to make the most of it! Sounds like the milk bottle experiment is doing really well Cherie. Lulu x
ReplyDeleteI've just checked the milk bottles and they all appear to be doing really well.
