Creating more growing space

This morning we popped to the local B and M  to buy some Lily bulbs.  We didn't get any bulbs but we did get two rolls of lovely fresh green turf and 120 litres of multi purpose compost.  The turf has been used in the front garden on a little project and the compost was used to help fill another raised bed made from a pallet and some of the wood off the old shed.

The grass seed that I sowed just the other side of the gravel area has at long last sprouted and we are amazed that in a matter of a couple of days we have the makings of a bit more lawn.  It's been down several weeks now and we had despaired of it ever sprouting but the shoots are almost an inch high though very skinny a the moment.  It won't be long before the patch of brown disappears under a lovely green sward. I've taken the stepping stones up from the middle of the lawn and the garden  now looks much wider. The stepping stones clearly drew our eyes inward.
