It's been a really unexpectedly lovely day here in the frozen north. We expected rain on and off all day and haven't seen a drop. I've had my 'Tooooooooooooneeeeeeeeee head on today. He dreads it when I say that to him poor bloke. Quite rightly too as I have created even more veggie growing area on the garden and then to make up for the piece of lawn that was sacrificed we shifted tons of gravel from the patio. After adding loads of compost and some top soil I have seeded it with grass seed and covered it with netting to keep the birds off.

First we 'ermmmm! I mean Tony moved the little fence |
Then I laid cardboard all over the lawn |
I'm eyeballing all that gravel |
Looks much better now that there is only half the amount of gravelled area
Won't it look nice once the newly seeded area is all lush and green
Forgot to mention the top dressing of bark on the new veggie area |
Now doesn't that look nice |
In order to get rid of the gravel we widened the gravel area in front of the conservatory. It's now right up to the fence line and looks so much neater than the boggy area in front of the water butt
You and Toooooooonneeeeeeee have been busy Cherie. What a transformation! We've had a fair bit of rain so it has been an evil housework day for me today. I did manage to shift a few seedlings along in between showers. Have a nice roast cooking in t'oven. Lulu x
ReplyDeleteWow, you certainly worked hard yesterday & I can see lots of veg in there already in the pots. Well done you too. Not much going on in the garden here with winter on the way. Too lousy for gardening with rain, small hail & wind straight off Antarctica. Brrrr!!! Take care, enjoy & hugs.
