Tony and I were sitting out in the garden having a cuppa after he came home from work today. We started to count up all the things we have growing in the veggie garden and were really surprised at just how much there is out there. Sweetcorn, chard, three varieties of kale, garlic, lettuce, two types of cucumber, red and green cabbage, sprouts, celeriac, Florence fennel, pumpkin, peas, dwarf French beans, two varieties of turnip, swede, coriander, Jerusalem artichokes, runner beans, celery, cucamelons, several varieties of tomato, four different mint varieties, golden purslane, dwarf Greek basil, ordinary basil, spring onions, three varieties of big onions, kalettes, purple sprouting broccoli, courgettes, spinach, potatoes, asparagus beetroot and leeks. We also have strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, gooseberries and apples. I'm not counting the fruit trees I bought this year as it will be a while before they produce anything. I may have missed something but it's not a bad veggie plot for an average suburban garden is it.
