Well the White Wonder cucumbers have turned out to be a huge disappointment. It's such a pity as they look absolutely stunning on the plant. They are almost pure white and when they aren't bitter they are gorgeous. It's too 'hit and miss' for me though, I want to be able to pick a cucumber and know that we will be able to eat it. This little beauty has been nurtured and fed for the past couple of weeks. I cut it this morning and it's as bitter as anything. I did like the novelty look of it as it's actually two that fused together. If the next one I take off the plant is nasty then they are all going on the compost heap. I have plenty of lovely green cucumbers that taste as sweet as anything. It's just not worth wasting time cultivating something that won't get eaten. I have better uses I can make of the space.

That's a huge shame. At least now you know. I do sometimes wonder if things like that are bred for looks, not flavour.
