Lovely winter salad

The back garden is looking really healthy after the recent storm.  I've taken the polythene covers off to give everything a bit of fresh air. Most of the veggies are the almost bone hardy winter variety anyway so aren't going to suffer. I can quickly pop the covers back on if really bad weather is forecast.  I do have netting on some of the beds to keep the pigeons off

Lunch today was the freshest home grown salad imaginable other than one disappointing piece of veg. I'd picked up a cucumber for 34p the other day and needed to use it up.  I won't buy another as it was practically tasteless and after having grown our own all summer long we have grown used to veggies that have the most wonderful favour. Don't ask about the train set  :-)

Our feta and walnut salad with two varieties of kale,  kalettes, a sprout leaf, plenty of lovely fresh lettuce, a kohlrabi, a disappointing cucumber and some yummy sauerkraut,  beetroot and apple.

  1. You have really spoilt yourself Cherie with all these delicious homegrown veggies. I know it. You know it. The train set knows it.
