A very busy morning

I've spent the past couple of hours dragging things around the garden today. It started off looking like this

And this

And now it looks like this with some of our tubs of hostas neatly lined up on the path. Some of them are already showing signs of shooting. I'm going to treat them as an edible crop this year and plan on adding them to salads

And doesn't this look much tidier?

In the 3ft by 2ft green raised planter that I put under the trellis panel this morning I've put two well rooted  jasmine cuttings, some Hyacinth bulbs and an orphan gladioli. Of course I had to empty all the reindeer poo and compost out before I could move it because it was just too heavy to drag around the garden on my own... I could have waited for himself to come home and give me a hand but wanted to see the job finished. I really ought to have a good sweep around the paths but I am just too tired so it will have to wait for another day. On the front of the raised planter are two shelves and I quite like the idea of displaying some auricula... except I don't have any so will pop some troughs filled with lettuce  there instead. They won't mind that its shady there.

  2. Well done. It was good gardening weather, for sure. It's exciting to think of all the produce to come, isn't it?

    1. I forget that I only have a garden and not a field when I'm planning what to grow

  3. Looking good!
I had no idea that we could eat hostas - I thought they were just for slugs 😄

  4. Good tidying tactics Cherie! The shelves look perfect for ariculas, or lettuce :) What plans do you have for the polycarbonate sheets?
