I'm really pushing the boundaries here by putting some of my tumbling tomatoes outside with no protection. I'll be keeping a close eye on the weather forecast and wrapping them in fleece if temperatures suddenly drop. I also popped some rooted basil into the same big planter as the tomatoes and both look absolutely fine this morning. The only reason I did this is because I have loads of tomato plants in a variety of types and I want to gradually start moving things out from the porch so that the cucumbers and aubergines have plenty of space to develop. They won't be going outside so are going to need all the space I can give them. The courgettes and butternut squash that I planted out the other day look amazing and I can already see tiny embryo yellow courgettes on one of the plants. It's amazing how quickly those things grow and with a bit of luck I'll be picking my first courgettes in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping that my citrus trio arrive today and then I can plant them into some nice pots that I have sitting waiting for a new occupant. It's all go in the garden.
